Speaking and Knowledge Exchange Events
IDVRM makes the expertise of its leadership and core team available to organisations, institutions and networks through speaking engagements, invited lectures, panel discussions, workshops, training sessions and other knowledge-exchange activities to promote fair remuneration for all team members.
Drawing on our interdisciplinary research, practice-based experience and international collaborations, our team contributes to discussions and professional learning on subjects including domestic violence and abuse (DVA), gender inequalities, religious beliefs and faith, migration, conflict-related sexual violence, localisation, decolonial research and inclusive approaches to development and humanitarian practice.
Our contributions can take different forms, from keynote presentations and conference panels to facilitated discussions and bespoke knowledge exchange sessions. We welcome invitations from academic institutions, public bodies, international organisations, civil society organisations, professional networks and other interested partners that respect our engagement conditions.
Fees and engagement conditions
All speaking and knowledge exchange events delivered by IDVRM’s Director and core team members are facilitated through IDVRM. This ensures that professional contributions are appropriately recognised and remunerated, while supporting the organisation’s wider non-profit mission and activities.
Our standard fee is £200 for a 90-minute engagement. This applies to speaking engagements, invited presentations, panel contributions and bespoke knowledge exchange events. Fees for longer engagements, bespoke sessions or contributions requiring substantial preparation will be agreed separately.
We recognise that organisations operate with different financial capacities. While we encourage all organisations to work within our standard fee structure, we are open to discussing alternative arrangements where financial constraints would otherwise prevent meaningful collaboration. Any adjusted fee or alternative arrangement must be agreed in advance with IDVRM.
Our approach reflects a commitment to fair remuneration, the recognition of professional expertise and the avoidance of unpaid labour. As an organisation working towards more equitable and inclusive systems, we believe that the knowledge and contributions of our team members should be valued and compensated fairly.
Additional conditions:
- Preparation: The standard fee covers the delivery and engagement time. Substantial bespoke preparation, the development of tailored materials or additional follow-up work may incur an additional charge, agreed in advance.
- Travel and accommodation: For in-person engagements, reasonable travel and, where necessary, accommodation expenses are to be covered by the inviting organisation, in addition to the agreed fee.
- Recording and reuse: Any recording, reproduction, distribution or subsequent use of presentations and training materials requires prior agreement with IDVRM and the relevant contributor.
- Cancellations: Cancellation arrangements will be agreed at the time of booking, taking account of preparation already undertaken and any costs incurred.
