What impact means to us

We define sustainability as the contextualisation of DVA and GBV programmes in community realities and worldviews to a) promote alignment with survivor and community lived experiences and priorities, b) overcome epistemic inequalities and funding dependencies, and c) achieve integrated and sustainable responses.

Cultural Value

We are committed to:

  • Promoting community-centred, evidence-based, culturally and theologically informed responses to domestic violence and interconnected forms of violence in religious, migrant and ethnic minority communities.
  • Improving cultural and religious literacy and sensitivity in DVA/GBV research, policy and practice to ensure responses are contextually relevant and effective.
  • Building the leadership and research capacity of community-based and indigenous organisations through co-creation, co-funding, mentoring and locally tailored capacity strengthening.
  • Serving as a trusted convening space and knowledge hub that fosters dialogue, mutual learning and a community of practice grounded in humility, cultural awareness and shared responsibility.

Social Value (Externally-facing)

We are committed to:

  • Strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange between policymakers, aid organisations, service providers, religious institutions, grassroots organisations and affected communities to enable more integrated and effective responses to domestic violence.
  • Promoting ethical, equitable and safeguarding-centred research and practice by upholding the highest standards of research ethics, providing independent ethics review, and supporting organisations to strengthen ethical governance.
  • Championing equitable and decolonial partnerships by recognising and valuing local expertise, promoting meaningful participation and addressing exploitative practices in research and international development.
  • Ensuring that all our research, consultancy and interventions generate lasting benefits for the communities we work with through co-created, evidence-informed and ethically grounded approaches.

Social Value (Internally-facing)

We are committed to:

  • Creating meaningful, fairly remunerated and sustainable employment opportunities for volunteers, consultants and affiliated experts across different regions, recognising and valuing international and locally situated expertise.
  • Promoting staff growth, leadership development and cross-border collaboration through equitable working relationships and clear professional development pathways.
  • Embedding trauma-informed, flexible and people-centred ways of working that prioritise wellbeing, dignity, inclusion and sustainable professional practice.
  • Operating as a values-led social enterprise by fostering an organisational culture built on fairness, transparency, collaboration and continuous learning.

Economic Value

We are committed to:

  • Achieving long-term financial sustainability to expand our impact, create employment opportunities and reinvest surplus into organisational development, research and community benefit.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of financial transparency, accountability and value for money across all our activities.
  • Applying robust due diligence processes to ensure that our funders, partners, collaborators and clients meet high ethical, financial and organisational standards and share our values.
  • Investing in sustainable employment by creating meaningful and fairly remunerated opportunities for volunteers, consultants and our affiliated experts across different regions.
